When & Where

Date: June 11, 2022

Venue: UBC Botanical Gardens

Time: Please arrive at the venue at 2.30pm, the ceremony will start at 3pm. Please note that there is only one parking meter for the whole lot, and it is about a 10 minute walk though the gardens to the ceremony location (Roseline Amphitheatre). The reception will end at 11:00pm.

Getting here

Driving: Getting to the gardens can be a little confusing, UBC is its own mini-city separate from Vancouver. If you use google maps to get to the gardens it will take you to a back road that doesn’t have access so its best to plug in the car park coordinates.

Parking: $6/day or $1.50/hour

Taxis: If you’re staying downtown you may be able to just hail a cab off the street though they aren’t very dense in the rest of the city. For everyone else we recommend getting an Uber or Lyft to the venue.

Reception

Toonie bar: We are doing a toonie bar! This means all alcoholic drinks at the bar will be $2. Please bring cash but don’t worry about having exact change, you can give in a $10 and get 5 drink tickets. We have paid the bar staff’s gratuity already, they will not accept tips from guests.

Dress code:

• Garden party vibes
• Block heels or wedges, no stilettos. We will be on grass.
• We’re going to change into sneakers after dinner, feel free to join us!
• Suits or jackets
• Vancouver is just about as unreliable as Ireland weather wise, it could be very hot or there could be a lot of rain. This is an outdoor venue, we will have tents in case of rain but please dress accordingly.
• Bring a jacket for the possible nighttime chill

Rules: No smoking is allowed in the gardens. The gardens are full of rare flora so please be careful with drinks and watch your step.

Gifts

Many of you are traveling far at great expense to be here and we consider this your present to us. If you would still like to give something towards our new life together or just wish us well, we’ll have a box for cards at the reception.
